How to ensure that macros are allowed to run in Excel 2007

Postby Support » 21 Apr 2010, 07:23

The following question has been emailed to us, which may be relevant for many Arixcel users:
I'm beginning to use the trial version of Arixcel Accounts. When I open my saved accounts book I get a dialog box with a message: 'Spreadsheet myaccontsbook.xlsm appears to be a Arixcel Accounts Book, but it does not respond to macro requests. Please ensure that macros are allowed to run in this spreadsheet'. I'm using Office2007 What should I do? Thanks

When you open the spreadsheet Excel 2007, it may display a security warning just below the Ribbon bar saying "Macros have been disabled". If that's the case, you can click on the Options button and select "Enable this content".

However, the preferred way of enabling macros in an Arixcel Accounts spreadsheet would be by adding the folder in which it is stored to the list of "trusted locations". To do this, to go to the "Trust Center" (Office Button > Excel Options > Trust Centre) then click on "Trust Center Settings", then "Trusted Locations" and add the relevant folder using "Add New Location" button at the bottom.

You can also change the way how macros are treated in general in the "Macro Settings" section of the Trust Center.

Hope this is helpful.
