Problem with disabled Active Book and Active Sheet menus

Postby Support » 09 Apr 2010, 16:54

One user reported a problem, which was about the fact that the Active Book and Active Sheet menus of Arixcel Accounts suddenly became disabled, and he could not perform any operations with his accounting spreadsheet. However, he could access the main menu and the "New Accounts Book" in it, which was creating a brand new accounts book where all the menus were working fine.

We currently do not know in what situations this problem might appear. However, there is a solution that worked for the mentioned user.

If the menus of Arixcel Accounts remain disabled when you open your accounting spreadsheet, you should try the following:

  • If you are using Excel 2003, unprotect any sheet in the accounts book (Tools > Protection > Unprotect Sheet)
  • Press Ctrl + F3 to bring the Defined Name window.
  • Add a new defined name called "setisArixcelAccountsBook" and refer it to "=TRUE". If you are using Excel 2007, make sure it has the "workbook" scope.
  • Save and close the accounts book and open it again.
If you encounter this problem, we would appreciate if you let us know the details around how it happened. Please use this forum or the contact us page.
